Chronology of cameras Phokina

Traduction de Alphonse Khuu

This small camera is more known as Petri 35 E. It was released in 1976, yet keeping the general look of the Petri 35, already eight years old.

The main originality of the Petri 35, which was the rear wheel which could settle the focus distance, has removed. The focus is now done by rotating a ring around the lens. There are two distance scales: by pictograms or distance (meters and feet).

The setting of exposure is automatic, controlled by a Cds cell. In the viewfinder, there is a signal for under- or overexposure. The shutter allows shutter speeds from 1/30 to 1/200 sec. The flash synchronization is the 1/30 shutter speed, by contact in the accessory shoe.

The viewfinder is with framelines, but does not seem to have parallax correction, contrary to what it was told in the catalogue Cinephotoguide 1976.

The lens renamed Phokina is a 2.8/40mm with four elements in three groups.

The battery is in a chamber accessible only after removing of the back cover and the sole.

In 1978, a Petri 35E was sold 596 francs
